For those cases where you need to be able to view a Hypercosm applet without installing any software on your computer, you can use the Hypercosm Standalone Viewer. This software runs an applet in its own window, outside of a web page. You therefore lose the benefits of web integration (such as a web based user interface) and the ability to view applets online, but this method allows people to view applets that they otherwise would not be able to.
- Click the download button below to download the viewer program. If your web browser offers you the option to "Save" or "Store" the program, select that option.
- Once the viewer has been downloaded to your computer, run a Hypercosm applet simply by dragging the applet file (the ".hcvm" file) on to the viewer program icon.
- A window should pop up displaying the applet and allowing you to manipulate the 3D model.
- A PC running Microsoft Windows 2000, or XP, or Vista
- A 3D capable video card is highly recommended
