Description
This training simulation demonstrates
howto use the thrust control lever (TCL)
on the V-22 tilt rotor aircraft.
Purpose
The department of defense faces
unique challenges in finding efficient
ways oftraining people on how to use
an increasingly wide array of complex
equipment. This is an example of
the "train as you fight, fight as
you train" philosophy.
Features
- Direct Manipulation
Hypercosm's level of
interactivity
and realism
allows computer based
training materials to more
precisely
depict the
interaction and response
of
physical equipment. For
example,
in this simulation,
the nacelle angle control is
a spring loaded thumbwheel
that responds to direct
manipulation of the user
and automatically returns
to
its center position when
you
let go of it, just like
the
real
thing.
- Sounds
Hypercosm allows multiple
sounds to be played at
once
and for the volume of
the
sounds to be controlled
programmatically, thereby
making it possible to
realistically duplicate
the
sound of the
aircraft
under
different
operating
conditions.
